I use your personal data to:
- answer your questions
- deliver your social media package and any add-ons
- create, plan and post content for your business
- take payments and manage your account
- send emails about your service, such as confirmations and updates
- send marketing emails, where you have agreed or the law allows
- improve my website, services and content
- keep my website safe
- keep business records for tax and legal reasons
- deal with complaints or legal claims

5. My legal reasons for using your data
The law says I must have a good reason to use your data. I use one or more of these:

Contract
When I need your data to deliver the service you have bought, or before you sign up.

Legal duty
When the law says I must keep or use your data, such as for tax records.

Legitimate interests
When I need your data to run my business fairly. This includes:
- running and improving my business
- answering your questions
- stopping fraud
- keeping my website and systems safe
- keeping records
- handling complaints
- some marketing, where the law allows

I only do this when it does not harm your rights.

Consent
When you have said yes, such as signing up to my emails or accepting some cookies. You can change your mind at any time.

6. Marketing
If you download my free template pack or join my email list, I may send you emails. These may include tips, offers and news about my services.

I will only send you marketing emails if:
- you have said yes, or
- the law allows me to.

You can unsubscribe at any time. Just click the link at the bottom of any email, or email me at hello@thatsamanthajones.co.uk.

7. Payments
Payments are handled by trusted payment providers, such as Stripe. I do not keep your full card details.

8. Your social media accounts
To manage your social media, I may need access to your accounts. I will:
- only use this access to deliver my service
- keep your login details safe and private
- never share your login details with anyone else
- stop using your accounts when our work together ends

Where possible, I will use the platform’s own tools to get access, such as Meta Business Suite. This means you do not need to share your password. I suggest you change your passwords once our work together ends.

9. Other companies I work with
I may share your data with trusted companies that help me run my business. These may include tools for:
- website hosting
- website analytics
- taking payments
- sending emails
- scheduling social media posts
- designing content
- planning and project management
- cloud storage
- accounting
- legal or professional advice

These companies can only use your data in the ways I allow, or in line with their own privacy policies.

10. Data sent outside the UK
Some of the tools I use may store data outside the UK.

When this happens, I make sure your data is kept safe. I do this by:
- using countries the UK says protect data well, or
- using approved legal agreements, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

11. How long I keep your data
I only keep your data for as long as I need it. Here is a rough guide:
- Enquiries: up to 12 months, unless you become a client
- Client and payment records: up to 6 years, for tax and legal reasons
- Content and account access: until our work together ends, then deleted within 30 days unless you ask me to keep it
- Marketing data: until you unsubscribe
- Complaints: for as long as needed to sort them out

When I no longer need your data, I delete it safely.

12. Cookies
My website may use cookies to:
- make the site work
- remember your choices
- keep the site safe
- see how people use the site
- improve the site
- support my marketing

Some low-risk cookies can be used without asking you first. For all others, I will ask for your consent.

13. Automated decisions
I do not make important decisions about you using computers alone.

If this changes, I will update this policy and explain your rights.

14. Children
My website and services are for adults and business owners. I do not knowingly collect data from children.

If you think a child has shared data with me, please contact me and I will deal with it.

15. Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of your data
- ask me to fix data that is wrong
- ask me to delete your data
- ask me to limit how I use your data
- object to how I use your data
- ask me to move your data to someone else
- withdraw your consent at any time
- complain about how I use your data

Some of these rights have limits under the law.

16. How to make a complaint
If you are not happy with how I have used your data, please tell me first.

- your name and contact details
- what your complaint is about
- any useful dates or messages

I will:
- reply to say I have your complaint within 30 days
- look into it fairly
- reply as soon as I can
- tell you what I found and what I will do

17. Keeping your data safe
I take sensible steps to protect your data from loss, misuse or being seen by the wrong people.

No system online is ever 100% safe, so I cannot promise total security.

My website may link to other websites or social media pages. I am not responsible for how they use your data. Please read their privacy policies.

19. Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date at the top.
